LALE isn’t a place or a flavor note — it’s the first letters of our kids’ first names, stitched together into the name of the family business we wanted to build for them.

We roast to order here in Duluth, close enough to Lake Superior to hear it from the roastery door, because we wanted to build something rooted in the place we’re raising our family: a little wild, deeply personal, and worth showing up for every day.

Every member of our family has a hand in it — from sourcing the beans to roasting each batch to packing the order that lands on your doorstep. Even the photography throughout this site is family-made: every shoreline shot is Easton’s — the E in LALE — behind the camera.
